Former US President Bill Clinton is in Belfast next week for a three-day conference on the future of Northern Ireland, where he will be joined by former and current British Prime Ministers Bertie Ahern, Tony Blair and Richie Sunak. Citing foreign media, SIA reports that Clinton arrived in this country when the current US President Joe Biden was finishing his tour of Ireland.
According to reports, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Brexit negotiator Maros Šefčovič, as well as a number of high-ranking officials of the White House, will participate in the conference hosted by Queen’s University in Belfast.
Among them will be the chairman of the committee of the US House of Representatives, Richard Neal, and the new economic envoy of the US for Northern Ireland, Joe Kennedy.
The conference will be opened by Hillary Clinton, former first lady, US Secretary of State and Chancellor of Queen’s University.
