Media storm

The former Frp profile and Letnes confirmed that they were a couple in July 2018. Shortly afterwards, Sandberg resigned from his job as minister and deputy leader of the Progressive Party.

The backdrop was that Sandberg had defied the advice of PST and took the service phone on a private trip to Iran – without notifying the Prime Minister’s office.

Sandberg believed that his departure was not due to his mobile phone use, but to how the media and other politicians chased and “abused” the relationship with his Norwegian-Iranian girlfriend.

Letnes came as a refugee to a foster family in Norway as a 17-year-old. In 2013, she won the title of Miss Iran in her home country.

The two met for the first time in 2015 at a seminar, and later supported each other at Karl Johan. Letnes has previously stated in an interview with KK that she sought him out in the street, and that they talked for several hours.

– After that it went from blow to blow. We continued to meet, and eventually fell in love and became lovers.

The couple has previously published a book together, in which they, among other things, defended their relationship. In 2021, Sandberg said, they have been postponed for threats for a number of years.

Series on TV2

In February it was reported that they were going to open a hotel in a new TV2 series. The couple took over the hotel before the pandemic, and should actually have opened in March 2020.

In an interview with TV 2 in connection with the premiere, the couple said that working together has affected their relationship.

– We have lived together practically 24/7 for five years, and worked together for three. I would say that we started the hotel operation as 80 percent lovers, and 20 percent business partners.
