Islamic Revolutionary Guards say they are ‘ready’ to fight against those who exert negative influence on the country’s economy
A foreign vessel carrying 1,450,000 liters of smuggled fuel was seized in the Persian Gulf, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps source said on Saturday evening.
The Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy’s Second Command Area, General Ramezan Zirahi, said the foreign vessel was heading to one of the countries in the Persian Gulf region and had seized with the coordination of the judicial organization.
He added that the seized smuggled fuel was delivered to the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company in Bushehr. Founded in 1950, the company has been involved in the supply and distribution of the country’s petroleum products for more than 70 years.
General Zirahi also said that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards are ready to fight fuel smuggling and will take strict measures against those who exert a negative influence on the country’s economy.
