Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos congratulated Jether Corpuz, the highest ranked passer in the 2022 Bar examinations from Mariano Marcos State University. In a Facebook post, Marcos gave a shout-out to all the new Ilocano attorneys in the province and particularly commended Corpuz for ranking 12th in the exam, garnering a score of 86.75%. The post also stated that the university was the fifth top performing law school in the country, with a 75 percent institutional passing rate. Marcos is the eldest son of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

A Penn Medicine study has found that brain development in young people does not occur consistently across the brain, revealing fresh insights into where and when reductions in plasticity occur. The study found that reductions in brain plasticity occur earliest in sensory-motor regions, while brain regions that support executive, social and emotional functions appear to retain their ability to change, adapt, and remodel until later in development. The authors studied the impact of a child’s socioeconomic environment on brain development, finding it was not uniform across regions, and had a larger impact on brain development in late-maturing associative brain regions, particularly in adolescence.
