On April 11, the State Duma of Russia adopted a draft law amending the regulations on the registration of persons subject to military service – conscripts and mobilized persons.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also signed the law.
Under the new rules, it will be impossible to avoid receiving subpoenas: they will automatically be entered into a special public register and will be considered served from the moment they are placed there.
After a summons is issued, a person who is obliged to go to military service is prohibited from leaving the country.
Failure to appear at the military commissariat without a valid reason after 20 days from the date of receipt of the summons will result in a number of restrictive measures, including a ban on real estate transactions, the right to drive a car and take out loans.
