The Bromma boys have to keep waiting for the first points of the season.
The team lost against Elfsborg with 0–5.
– It’s a disaster, I don’t understand, says Oscar Pettersson to Discovery.
Loss against Djurgården and loss against Malmö FF.
On Saturday afternoon, the Brommapojkarna’s gloomy streak got even longer.
The team fell 0–5 against Elfsborg in Borås.
“It’s a disaster”
Elfsborg’s lead goal came after just four minutes when BP goalkeeper Oscar Linnér released a rebound that Jacob Ondrejka volleyed to make it 1-0.
The second came after twenty minutes when Kevin Ackermann lost the ball far down in his own half and the home team converted.
The goal through Alexander Bernhardsson. His first complete hit of the season.
BP’s Oscar Pettersson was critical of his own effort in the half-time interview with Discovery.
– It’s a disaster, I don’t understand. We are anxious in possession. We have a bad first half.
– It shouldn’t take two conceded goals for us to start playing. We are a good enough team to go out and play good football against any team but we don’t give it the chance.
Elfsborg finally won the match 5–0 after another goal from Ondrejka and two more from Bernhardsson who became a hat-trick scorer.
– We are not good enough, we lose the ball to three of the goals. We are under pressure but not incredibly pressured, we should be able to handle it much better, BP coach Andreas Engelmark told Discovery after the match.
Team captain injured
Extra heavy for the Brommapojkarna was that the team’s captain – midfielder Gustav Sandberg Magnusson – was forced to make an early substitution with a head injury. He was able to get off the plane by his own machine.
Elfsborg’s Per Frick and two-goal scorer Jacob Ondrejka also left with injuries.
Next up for BP is a home meeting with Mjällby. Elfsborg meets Degerfors away in the next round.
