The Delhi legislative assembly has announced an “urgent” session following the summons issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal has stated that he will move court against the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for alleged perjury and false evidence. The summons relates to a case concerning the Delhi government’s liquor policy. The CBI has been accused of perpetrating a “witch-hunt” against the Delhi government, with Congress leader Kapil Sibal describing the agency’s actions as “persecution on course”.
