Nikolay Gemedzhiev died last night
Judge Nikolay Gemedzhiev from the criminal panel of the District Court in Burgas died last night – on Maundy Thursday, announced his mother Elena Gemedzhieva.
The magistrate left us too young – just turned 51 years old. In recent months he had been at home battling a serious illness.
His colleagues from RS Burgas are shocked by the news, because they expected him to recover soon and back to a courtroom where he had built the authority of a fair judge and a brilliant scholar. His judicial acts were impeccable, and he himself was an authority who left no doubt about his decisions in either party.
Nikolay Gemedzhiev was born on January 29, 1972 in Tutrakan. He graduated from the Peyo Yavorov Language High School with honors and is still proud of his school.
He knew three languages - Russian, English and French. He graduated with a degree in “Law” from the “Angel Kanchev” University of Rousse, and his magisterial career began at RS Tutrakan in 2001. From 2003 to 2016, he was part of RS-Aitos, and then moved to Burgas. Although he had the rank of a judge of the Court of Appeal, he continued to administer justice in the District Court of Burgas, where he handled some of the most complex cases.
Nikolay Gemedzhiev has two beautiful teenage twin boys.
His funeral will be in his native Tutrakan, on Saturday at 12 o’clock, said his mother Elena Gemedzhieva.
