“100% of the objective achieved”, welcomes this structure, which reopened in 2022, after two and a half years of closure “due to a lack of medical staff”. With 649 plasma donations, on the other hand, it is only “70% of the objective achieved”.
There is room for improvement
The Maison du don knows that there is room for improvement. It estimates the number of people of giving age in the Nevers agglomeration to be 45,600 and has calculated that its “generosity rate”, the number of donors related to this population, was 2.32%. With the regional average standing at 4.54%, “there is still great potential to be exploited”. This is why the Maison du don is counting on upward targets for the coming year: 2,400 blood donations and 850 plasma donations.
The reopening of the Maison du don has undeniably represented progress in addition to mobile collections, by offering new slots to donors, more suited to their professional and/or family obligations and by welcoming them to a refurbished place with “reworked signage and modernization of furniture” and an easier appointment.
The inter-agency challenge was a success
Finally, to maintain the momentum, the teams of the Maison du don have set up several original events, such as Christmas sweater day or summer week on the theme of camping. Similarly, the return of the inter-agency challenge was a success and the collection organized with the professional rugby players of the USON was appreciated.
