American figure skaters break three ice dancing world records
Madison Chock and Evan Bates were the best of their kind at the World Tag Team Championships in Tokyo. They improved the achievements of the French Gabriela Papadakis and Guillaume Sizeron. Now the Americans hold records in rhythm dance, free dance and total programs.

American figure skaters Madison Chalk and Evan Bates set new world records in the free dance, as well as in the sum of two programs.
Chock and Bates topped their game at the World Figure Skating Team Championships in Tokyo. For the free dance, they received 138.41 points, in total for the two types of programs – 232.32 points.
They improved the records of the French Gabriela Papadakis and Guillaume Sizeron (137.09 and 229.82), which were set at the 2022 World Cup.
The most titled figure skater was banned from entering Russia

Earlier at the tournament in Tokyo, Chok and Bates also set a new world record in rhythm dance – 93.91 points.
Chock and Bates are silver medalists at the Beijing Olympics in the team tournament, they have gold (2023), silver (2015) and two bronzes (2016, 2022) at the world championships.
