Jakarta’s acting governor, Heru Budi Hartono, has announced that the city will resume its Monas revitalisation programme, which was started during the period of former governor Anies Baswedan. The scheme, which features a green concept, aims to plant 300 new trees in the cultural heritage area, build an amphitheatre for public gatherings and expand the green area by increasing the number of trees. The revitalisation is waiting for an order from the State Secretary Ministry as the land owner. The Jakarta Provincial Government, the State Owned Enterprises Ministry, the Transportation Ministry, the Public Works and Housing Ministry, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia will be involved in revitalising the Monas area near Gambir Station.
Jakarta will resume green revitalization of Monas with the plan to plant more trees and construct an amphitheater. The project’s budget is supported by various government organizations.
