In Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, a little girl named Seerat Naaz has become viral on Facebook after requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a better school for her and her classmates. In a video with a runtime of just under 5 minutes, Seerat introduces herself as a student of the local government high school, before panning the phone camera towards the dirty, covered concrete floor area and the unclean building, identified as the ‘Principal’s office and the staff room’. She shows Prime Minister Modi around the school, pleading with him to build a nice school for the students to sit on benches and not on the floor, and with toilets and other amenities, so they could study well and their mothers would not scold them for getting their uniforms dirty. The video shared on Facebook has close to 2 million views and over 116,000 likes so far.
