At the heart of a racism case, the former Union striker could have a second chance in New York.
Gerhard Struber, the coach of the New York Red Bulls spoke about the Dante Vanzeir affair this Thursday, at a press conference. The former Union player, who apologized after making racist remarks in the middle of a match, could see his contract with New York broken by MLS, just a few months after his arrival in the United States. But according to the words of his coach, he could well receive a second chance.
“Dante had a lot of regrets. He addressed his teammates and apologized. My door is always open to him,” Struber said at a press conference. “Young players make mistakes. We want to help him, but it will take time to reintegrate him into the group. It will take a lot of discussion and he will have to work on his behavior.
