Cry out loud and clear that you believe in God, that you are a follower of places of worship. Preaching and referring to God all the time… Does this attest to the strength, sincerity and veracity of his faith?
Claiming to be the only one to have the affection of God, to be the only one to receive all his blessing and to be worthy of his favors… are these acts of piety?
Would God no longer be for these individuals, the One God, the God of love for all men? Isn’t this to admit that one’s God is not that of others? Or, would some have lost touch with reality, persuaded themselves to be a king invested with divine rights? We no longer serve God, we use Him. We brandish our promises, but we forget our commandments. We use God to justify ourselves and hide all our shameful acts.
God is a power and claiming to be his only “foal” highlights a contempt for others, but also paradoxically, a disdain for God, considered a usurper.
Megalomania, mythomania…: in psychoanalysis, we speak of “syndrome d’hubris » !

It would be, however, abusive to include all those who pray and want to share their faith in this hypotyposis. There are still individuals whose deeds alone bear witness to their humility, their wisdom, their tolerance and their benevolence… without pomp or fanfare!
