According to US intelligence China may have agreed to supply Russia with weapons or ammunition disguised as peaceful cargo. This information was found among leaked classified documents from the American newspaper “Washington Post”.
One of the documents, dated February 23 of this year, said the Americans had intercepted a message from Russia’s foreign intelligence service that said China’s Central Military Commission had approved the “further provision” of secret arms supplies.
The Washington Post newspaper recalls that only at the end of February, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and other representatives of the US administration stated that they had heard that China is considering selling weapons to Russia.
Beijing regularly states that it maintains a strictly neutral position in the current war and calls for peace.
American and Ukrainian officials later said they had no information that China actually supplies Russia with weapons.
