Xiaomi Collaborates with Leica for Unprecedented Camera System in New Xiaomi 13 Ultra Model

The top model Xiaomi 13 Ultra is another result of Xiaomi’s ongoing collaboration with Leica. The predecessor 12S Ultra that we took a closer look at never came to Sweden, but this Xiaomi 13 Ultra promises Xiaomi to be launched globally. The launch will now take place in April and the phone will then be available for sale sometime during “the coming months”. The 12S Ultra came out in July 2022.

Leica promises that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have a camera system with an optical solution that has never been seen before, with the result that all the lenses of the phone, from wide angle to telephoto, will have excellent characteristics. All this according to Leica, then. It is on its official Twitter account that Xiaomi now confirms that the launch will take place on April 18.

Rumors about the specifications point to four cameras on the back, all at 50 megapixels each and two of them specifically for zoom. Otherwise, the unconfirmed rumors speak of a 6.7-inch screen, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 system chip and a 4900 mAh battery, all of which are the same or similar to what the Xiaomi 13 Pro has today. It is therefore on the camera side that we can expect the biggest improvements.
