At Easter 2023, the support association of the Brachbach fire brigade organized and held an Easter campaign for children and their families around the Brachbach fire brigade with the participation of the support associations of the day care center and primary school.
Brachbach. The great success of the premiere in 2022 and the enthusiastic participation of the children and their families had almost dictated that such a campaign should also be offered this year. The astonished eyes of children were looking for the handicrafts they had previously submitted, which were decorated by hard-working helpers on long lines and presented under the eaves of the outbuilding.
This shortened the waiting time until the Easter bonfire was lit. Many valuable prizes were raffled: Family and annual tickets for visiting regional zoos and play parks, meal vouchers and stuffed rabbits could be accepted. Immediately after the welcome by Eva Kupka, chairwoman of the Brachbach fire brigade development association, local mayor Steffen Kappes acted as the “lucky fairy” when drawing the raffle prizes. Almost 60 lottery tickets had previously been given out by just as many children to submit handicrafts, around 150 handicrafts with Easter motifs had been handed in together with a donation. Each child also received a chocolate bunny and all children who had submitted a lottery ticket also received a consolation prize.
The physical proximity to the beautifully situated and well-equipped children’s playground made waiting an adventure, especially for the little guests, and was used very intensively.
The families and relatives of the children who responded to the call for handicrafts, members of the association and business people from the area once again supported the campaign with donations of money or goods. The net proceeds will benefit the children of the local community and the Siegtal extinguishing train again via the support associations. “With this money we will hopefully be able to buy new boxes with toys for the elementary school students and new toys for the individual groups or a new taxi for the daycare children and thus be able to realize some long-cherished wishes,” says Julia Helwig and her team from the Friends of the day-care center and elementary school in Brachbach. The share of the support association of the fire brigade will use its share again for the equipment of the youth fire brigade. (red)
