The famous violin soloist Viorica de la Clejani went through terrible moments after she found out she was suffering from diabetes. The artist had the strength to come out publicly and talk about the diagnosis she received, after a period in which she did not feel very well.
The diagnosis that completely changed the life of Viorica from Clejani
Recently, the artist found out that she suffers from diabetes and thus had to change her diet and lifestyle. Ioniță’s wife confessed that she gave up sugar consumption, advising those who follow her to do the same if they care about their health.
“I do what the doctors say. I wouldn’t have wanted to lose weight because I feel good in my own skin. I don’t eat sugar anymore. The doctor told me this: the more you eat, the faster you go. For a healthy life eat as little as possible. As little as possible and healthy”, Viorica from Clejani testified.
Diabetes, the silent disease that beckons and other ailments
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic, metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose (glucose or blood sugar) levels. Without proper treatment and a diet recommended by a doctor, diabetes leads to serious damage to the heart, blood vessels, eyes, kidneys and nerves over time.

What is the role of diet in diabetes?
The steps a diabetic patient needs to take to adopt a healthy lifestyle include:
- a diet rich in fresh, nutritious foods, including whole grains, vegetables, fruits, lean protein, low-fat dairy, and healthy sources of fat such as nuts
- avoiding foods high in sugar
- avoiding excessive alcohol consumption
- exercise at least 30 minutes/day (outdoor walks, swimming, aerobics, etc.)
