China’s defense must strengthen training aimed at actual combat, President Xi Jinping said in a statement.
– WE must defend China’s territorial integrity and maritime interests and strive to protect overall stability, Xi said, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
The statement comes after China held a three-day military exercise around Taiwan.
He asks that the country’s defense strengthen the military training that is aimed at an actual battle.
The island of Taiwan is in practice fully self-governing, but China still insists that the island be subject to them.
