The Indonesian manufacturing sector is performing well as it continues to be the largest contributor to the country’s GDP in 2022, at 16.48%. Additionally, it contributes significantly to national tax revenues, with 28.7% coming from the industrial sector. The Industrial Confidence Index (IKI) until March 2023 also showed expansion, with a value of 51.87. In line with the improvement in the condition of the Indonesian industrial sector following the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia is taking the opportunity to become the first ASEAN country to be the partner country for the third time at the Hannover Messe 2023 international industry exhibition. The event, taking place from April 17-21 in Hannover, Germany, will show off Indonesia’s Industry 4.0 technologies and provide investment opportunities, amongst other events. Indonesian participation is expected to achieve four primary goals: introducing Indonesia’s vision of the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, promoting industrial cooperation, promoting investment and export, and strengthening bilateral cooperation relationships with Germany.
