Leaders from the Congress, Janata Dal (United), and Rashtriya Janata Dal met in Delhi to explore the possibility of uniting against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2024 general election. The meeting was attended by Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Manoj Kumar Jha, and Salman Khursheed. The leaders pledged to unite all Opposition parties for the upcoming polls and protect the Constitution. Opposition parties have been exploring new equations as the Lok Sabha election draws closer, but some parties, such as the Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, have sent mixed signals on joining a united front against the BJP. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi, led by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has expressed interest in an Opposition front but does not want Congress in it.
