Former Russian Military Intelligence Officer Forms Battalion to Destabilize Putin’s Russia from Within

KIEV – A former military intelligence officer Russia have defected to Ukraine . He is forming a battalion ready to destabilize the country led by President Vladimir Putin from within.

The defector was named Vladislav Ammosov. he told Radio Free Europe that with the “Siberian battalion” he is ready to urgently deploy to Russian territory as part of a sabotage and reconnaissance group and destroy the enemy supporting Putin’s authority.

Ammosov, who is from the Yakut tribe, added that his battalion would be made up of dissidents of various ethnicities.

According to him, ethnic minorities in Russia are treated like second-class citizens and feel represented in Russia’s war defeats.

Media Ukraine, Focusnoting that it remains unclear how the battalion Ammosov is preparing will form.

Oleg Zhdanov, a colonel in the Ukrainian reserve army, told the media that the unit Ammosov had prepared could look similar to the pro-Kremlin private military company, Wagner Group.

However, he said, the units prepared by Ammosov would be capable of sabotaging Russia from within, carrying out assassinations, kidnappings and attacks.

Ammosov served in the GRU, Russia’s military intelligence wing, for 15 years before moving to Europe.
