The Public Authority for Health Care announced the results of its medical and awareness campaign on oral, dental and gum health, which included providing awareness and conducting medical examinations for 700,000 citizens in the 4 comprehensive health insurance governorates (Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, and Suez), under the slogan “Your health.. hold it with your hands.” and your teeth.”

The Health Care Authority stated that the campaign, which was carried out by the Authority in cooperation with the international company Unilever, aimed at teaching children to wash hands in the correct way in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization, in addition to examining teeth, measuring the level of sugar and blood pressure, and raising awareness of the importance of brushing teeth to maintain oral and dental health. and gums.

The authority said: The campaign “Your Health.. Hold it with your hands and teeth” is the first campaign launched by the Health Care Authority in Suez Governorate, as the activities of the campaign continued in the governorate for 21 days, during which the campaign was able to provide awareness and medical examinations to 120,000 citizens in the governorate, referring to The Suez governorate is the fourth governorate in which the campaign is launched, as the campaign had previously been launched in 3 governorates (Port Said, Luxor, and Ismailia).

The authority reviewed the results of the campaign in the three governorates, where the total number of citizens benefiting from the campaign services in Port Said governorate reached 160,000 citizens, 250,000 citizens in Luxor governorate, and 162,000 citizens in Ismailia governorate.

And the authority continued: The campaign, which was launched in the four comprehensive health insurance governorates (Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia and Suez), primarily targeted children of all ages. Distributing a number of symbolic gifts and coloring booklets to encourage children on the importance of washing hands and brushing their teeth in a proper manner, in order to urge children to take care of personal hygiene.

And she continued: Inside the “Your Health.. Hold Your Hands and Teeth” campaign truck, which toured the number of schools and different neighborhoods in the governorates, there are basins equipped for the purpose of training children and teaching them the proper steps to wash hands with soap and water, in addition to some initial checks to detect the safety of the mouth and teeth of all visitors to the truck. , from different age groups.

And she emphasized that infection prevention and control, including hand hygiene, is crucial to achieving comprehensive health coverage, pointing to the importance of raising awareness among young people of these preventive measures, and informing them of sound health patterns in a practical way, pointing out that hand and dental hygiene and following proper methods and steps in care In addition to the use of technological tools to create a passion and enjoyment among children for the importance of washing hands, as it is considered one of the most effective measures to reduce the spread of pathogens and prevent infections and their transmission, especially viral ones, including the emerging corona virus (Covid 19).

She added: Promoting prevention concepts and adopting healthy behavior as a lifestyle is crucial to achieving universal health coverage, pointing to the intensification of global efforts for control and prevention in order to avoid the occurrence of diseases as well as eliminate diseases, as this is a global trend, including raising individuals’ awareness of the importance of this. In order to preserve the health of citizens, in addition to improving the quality of life and the level of public health for all citizens, especially for children, in line with the campaigns that are being launched under the slogan “100 Million Health”, and in line with the interest of the political leadership in the health of young people from Egypt’s future generations.

The campaign comes from the belief of the Health Care Authority in strengthening cooperation with the private sector, and in order to achieve the social responsibility of these companies, for their effective role in promoting healthy lifestyles, which aims at the integration of health services that are provided by the Health Care Authority and are not limited to treatment only, However, it extends to include prevention programs and the promotion of concepts of a healthy and healthy quality of life, with the aim of building strong, healthy generations with conscious minds, which in turn reduces the cost of treatment for the Egyptian state.
