In a new epidemiological balance delivered by the Ministry of Health (Minsal), 577 new cases of Covid-19 were reported and a positivity of 5.12% nationwide. Of the total, there are 32 new asymptomatic cases.
According to the daily report, the total number of People who have been diagnosed with coronavirus reach 5,273,350 nationwide. Of this total, 2,436 patients are in the active stage, considering a 5-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,182,111.
Likewise, the Ministry of Health reported that new confirmed cases nationwide decreased 44.1% in the last week and 58.1% in the last 14 days. In addition, all 16 regions reduced their cases in the last seven and 14 days.
Regarding the deaths, The Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) reported 13 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths amounts to 61,142 in the country.
Due to a lower number of death registrations due to the closure of Civil Registry offices during the legal holiday, no new deaths from Covid-19 will be reported until the report on Monday, April 10.
To Saturday, 70 people were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU), of which 51 remained with mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 269 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
The regions with the highest positivity in the last week according to the sampling are O’Higgins, Biobío, Antofagasta and Valparaíso. For its part, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Ñuble, O’Higgins and Valparaíso.
In relation to the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 7,754 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 49,148,437 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 5.12% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 6%.
Regarding the Health Residences, there are 3 accommodation facilities, with a total of 133 beds. The real occupancy at the national level is 20%, leaving a total of 81 beds available for use.
