Two teenagers, a boy and a girl, both aged 14, were killed and two others injured after the car they were travelling in collided with a tree in Galway, Ireland. The incident took place at 5.45am on Monday, 29 March, on the L6127 at Glennagarraun in the Ballyfruit area of Headford. All four occupants of the car were teenagers, two boys and two girls. The remaining three were taken to University Hospital Galway, where the girl later died. Two other teenagers, a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, are still being treated for “serious” injuries in hospital. The four were students of Presentation College in Headford, where specialist counseling services are to be made available to students and staff. A special “critical incident” response was implemented at the school on Tuesday following the deaths of the two teenagers. A police appeal has been made for witnesses to the collision.
