Our province is looking for about 8,000 workers a month. This is the figure that emerges for the March-May 2023 quarter according to the Excelsior Unioncamere surveys. A figure in line with the previous quarter and higher by 2,000 units if compared to the same period of 2022. Not only that:
industry is once again increasing its demand and if in the previous quarter there were 2,500 requests for personnel against 4,000 for services, in this period it is calling at least 3,700 per month, against a stable tertiary sector in terms of requests.
This means that in terms of work the Bergamo area is doing well and there is no shortage of dynamism – the companies that envisage hiring are 14% of the total – yet the gearing is not optimal and the companies continue to lack valid professional figures while the young people, and not only them, continue to look for something better for their future. 39% of job offers concern skilled workers and plant operators and in 64% of cases specific professional experience or experience in the same sector is requested. One of the most difficult requirements to hit right now.
