Venezuelans involved in Carabinero crime arrested

Two of the three Venezuelans involved in the murder of Carabinero Daniel Palma Yáñez, committed in the center of Santiago de Chile, were arrested this Monday in the course of the intense search operation that has been in place since the moment of the death of the security official.

According to information shared with us by Venezuelans in Chile, authorities raided a house in the Commune of Quinta Normal, a procedure during which they arrested Ovimarlixon Josué Garcés Briceño. Among the evidence they collected the passport of another of those involved, Luis Lugo Lugo.

Garcés Briceño revealed during the interrogation that the other implicated was Luis Lugo Machado whose fingerprints, as compared with those in the passport, were consistent with those collected by criminalists in the Chevrolet Sonic vehicle, involved in the crime. He was also apprehended, leaving only Carlos Cortez, the other person involved, on the run.

The capture of those involved in the murder of the Carabinero was not only a priority for the Prosecutor’s Office and Security Organs, but also for decent Venezuelans, those who migrated to work and seek better living conditions, but who, after the crime, have been misplaced before a society that generalizes when it comes to individualities. Many Venezuelans, mostly Delivery, had photos of those involved and made them visible through networks to spread the location and apprehension.

One source highlights the organized work and coordination between the Prosecutor’s Office and Security Bodies that, in cases like this, of homicide, proceed with simultaneous raids to prevent any type of communication between the criminals.
