Former member of the group “Singapore Satin”, rapper and music producer Kristaps Struberg started a solo career with the stage name strüberg, and submitted his latest song “King Of The Kenga” to the audience.
“King Of The Kenga” references Manu Chao’s “Bongo Bong”. As Struberg himself reveals, the motif of this song inspired him long ago, but the music has connected with the words right now. It came out very well. The video version of the new single was filmed in Ħengarag. Video creators are Laima Kozule and strüberg.
“The song is about the ordinary, inner “province” of Riga, its micro-districts and those who have felt that feeling of smallness and tried to make something out of nothing. For everyone who has seen the rules of local life and its heroes growing up. A song for everyone who has worn the clothes of this district, washed them and dreamed of a better tomorrow. The reality and dreams of all yards,” explains strüberg.
