Starting April 16, Hajj travelers from Oman can get vaccinated

Muscat: The Ministry of Health has announced that vaccinations and medical check-up for Hajj pilgrims from Oman this year will be done at primary health centres. From April 16, citizens and expatriates who have been permitted to leave for Hajj from Oman can receive the vaccine.

Meningitis vaccine, influenza vaccine and covid vaccine prescribed by Saudi Arabia. Officials said this was necessary to avoid the spread of infections and in the public health interest. Although 14,000 people from Oman have been allowed quota to go for Hajj, 13,098 Omani citizens and 500 expatriates will get the opportunity this time. Apart from them, 402 people will be in the official Hajj group. Last year, 8338 people from Oman, including locals and foreigners, had the opportunity to perform Hajj. This year’s Hajj online registration ended on March 4. A total of 42,406 applications were received.
