The owner of a cow farm from Dolni Dabnik was detained for labor and sexual exploitation of his workers, through threats and violence. This is reported by the police.
The police officers found that the workers – two women aged 31 and a man aged 33 – were working without employment contracts.
The 57-year-old farmer was charged with the violation. The inspection showed that the three workers work and live in poverty and social isolation and are subject to sexual exploitation.
They are accommodated in a crisis center for victims of violence.
On April 5, employees from the RU Dolni Dabnik and specialized tactical actions at the ODMVR – Pleven searched the home of the 5-year-old man in Dolni Dabnik.
Documents, 33,500 BGN and 300 liters of alcoholic liquid with the smell of brandy were found and confiscated.
The “Customs” agency has been notified of the presence of excise goods. The 57-year-old was initially detained for up to 24 hours.
He was charged with four crimes – for the illegal appropriation of a sum of money in the amount of BGN 11,914.85 – the social pension of one of the victims; crime of sexual violence, using force and threat with a person of the same sex; and two more felonies – attempted sexual assault of two women by force and threat.
On April 6, 2023, by decision of the Pleven District Court, he was placed under permanent arrest. Work on the case continues under the direction and supervision of the supervising prosecutor.
