Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – What is the appropriate time to measure the level of sugar in the blood during the month of Ramadan? Diabetics who choose to fast this year may face this question.
The official account of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population answered this inquiry, tweeting on “Twitter”.
Here are the appropriate times to measure your blood sugar level during the month of Ramadan:
- time of dawn
- When you wake up in the morning
- before breakfast
- Two hours after breakfast
The Ministry recommends measuring the glucose level immediately when feeling tired.
Diabetics can fast during the month of Ramadan if they manage to control the disease and follow the doctor’s recommendations carefully.
And if they are able to fast, they must consume complex carbohydrates that are slowly absorbed by the body, such as brown bread, oatmeal, and legumes, eat lean meat, and avoid fried or processed foods that are rich in fat and sugar.
