LIVERPOOL – The body responsible for professional football referees (PGMOL) said it will investigate the conflict between Andy Robertson and assistant referee Constantin Hatzidakis during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

In video footage, Hatzidakis appeared to elbow the Liverpool defender in the face late in the first half. The PGMOL organization confirmed in its statement that it will look into the matter.

“PGMOL is aware of the incident involving assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson during half-time at Anfield Road. We will investigate the matter fully.”

The head coach of “The Reds” Jürgen Klopp could not comment on the incident after the match: “I know it happened but I didn’t look at it. The footage will speak for itself.”
