Bali is expected to be a popular destination during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday for Muslims, according to Tjok Bagus Pemayun, the head of Bali Province’s Tourism Agency. Influx of domestic tourists is expected to rise one week prior to the holiday and will peak after the holiday. The Bali Tourism Board is predicting an increase in domestic tourists by up to 20% compared to non-holiday weeks. Most of the tourists are expected to come from Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, and East Kalimantan. The beach tourism objects are predicted to be the most visited destinations followed by the Kintamani area, and Lake Batur. Tourists are also expected to choose to stay in star-rated hotels in the Nusa Dua, Kuta, and Sanur areas.
