The Philippines is expecting rains on Monday due to the northeasterly surface windflow and a low pressure area (LPA). Cagayan Valley will experience moderate to heavy rains with possible flash floods and landslides due to the northeasterly surface windflow affecting Northern and Central Luzon. Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region may also experience light rains. The LPA’s trough will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and Caraga. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the LPA’s trough or localized thunderstorms. Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the seaboards of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas, and slight to moderate elsewhere in the country.
The northeasterly windflow and low pressure area will cause rain and potential flash floods or landslides in parts of the Philippines.
