German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann reached the semi-finals of the Houston tournament, clearly dominating Czech qualifier Tomas Machac (6-2, 6-1) on Saturday night session in Houston.
Hanfmann, ranked 134th in the ATP, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, seeded n°8, and Chilean Cristian Garin in the semi-finals of the Texas tournament.
The German player had dismissed Japanese qualifier Yosuke Watanuki (6-4, 3-6, 6-2), and the American Tommy Paul, seeded n ° 2 (7-6 [6]6-2), earlier in the tournament.
Machac, 138th in the world at the ATP, had beaten the American wild card Jack Sock without being worried by the score (6-2, 6-4), and had won against the American Marcos Giron, seeded n ° 7 (6 -4, 6-4).
