Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The Ministry of Transportation confirmed that sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) toll road from Cimalaka to Dawuan will operate functionally during the 2023 Eid homecoming period. However, this toll road will operate limitedly from noon to evening at 15.00 WIB .

The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, explained that the reason the Cisumdawu toll road is still operating functionally during this year’s Lebaran homecoming is because it considers the safety aspect for travelers who pass this route.

“So for our brothers and sisters who are going home from Bandung heading to Cipali via the Cisumdawu toll road, with the permission of the PUPR Minister, it can only be operated from noon to 15.00 WIB,” said the Minister of Transportation, after checking the condition of the Cisumdawu toll road section 4, 5, and 6, Sunday (9/4/2023).

Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works Basuki Hadimuljono explained, when the Cisumdawu Toll Road traffic is regulated, it will fully follow the direction of the National Police Traffic Corps.

“Will it be enforced? contra flow, one wayor open and close everything following the direction of the National Police Traffic Corps according to conditions in the field with a simulation that has been prepared,” said Minister Basuki.

After the functional opening for Lebaran 2023 homecoming, Minister Basuki targeted that all the Cisumdawu Toll Road sections could be completed and fully operational by the end of May 2023 to support Kertajati Airport operations.

Previously, sections 1, 2 and 3 of the Cisumdawu toll road starting from Cileunyi-Jatinangor-Sumedang-Cimalaka had been completed and supported the smooth flow of vehicles during the 2022/2023 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

With the completion of sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Cisumdawu toll road, the Cisumdawu toll road has a total length of around 65 km. The presence of this toll road will make it easier for people to access from Bandung and its surroundings to Kertajati Airport or vice versa, with a journey time of only one hour.
