Sachin Pilot, a leader of the Congress party in Rajasthan, has accused Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of failing to act against corruption in the state, causing a rift within the party ahead of elections. Pilot has called for action against alleged corruption by the previous BJP government, including in relation to excise, illegal mining, land encroachment and the Lalit Modi affidavit case. He has said that the party must fulfil its promises and investigate these issues ahead of the upcoming election. Pilot and Gehlot have a long-running feud, with Pilot previously attempting to force a promotion from Deputy Chief Minister which failed.
