“More Car Damage During Meal & Toilet Breaks Than Easter Traffic Queue”

More than four times as many cars are damaged during toilet and meal breaks than in the actual car queue home from Easter Mountain or the sea.

On the first and second day of Easter last year, 74 cars were damaged by rear-end collisions in the Easter queues. This is shown by figures from Finans Norge.

In comparison, 350 cars suffered bodywork damage when parking and reversing on the same two days last year.

– In the chaos at the petrol station, the rest area or where there are charging stations, you are quite prone to getting a dent in your car on the way home. I would like to compare it a little to the days of chaos in the shopping centers just before Christmas, says Sigmund Clementz, head of communications at If.

On Easter Sunday last year, 17 cars were involved in overtaking accidents and 50 in head-on accidents on the roads in Norway.

– In such accidents, the consequences can be great, and unfortunately there are often personal injuries. So I would encourage everyone to drive carefully and neatly in the Easter traffic. You will come forward, no matter what, says Clementz.
