Celtic Glasgow are on the verge of successfully defending their title in the Scottish football championship after beating Rangers in the city derby.
Celtic won the “Old Firm” 3-2 on Saturday and extended their lead over their arch-rivals to twelve points with their eleventh league win in a row. Third-placed Heart of Midlothian (Peter Haring) was already 43 points behind before the evening game.
With 53 league titles, Celtic would come within two of the record champions Glasgow Rangers (55). The two major Glasgow clubs have shared all championship titles since 1984/85 (Aberdeen).
