Libreville, Friday April 7, 2023 (Gabon Info) – The Head of State presides this Saturday, April 8, 2023 in the Gabonese economic capital the 5e edition of this international race in which the multi-British and world Olympic champion, Mo Farah, participates.
the 5e edition of the “10 km of Port-Gentil” which takes place this Saturday, April 8, 2023 through the streets of the Gabonese economic capital promises to be very tough. Chaired by the President of the Republic, Ali Bongo Ondimba, this race, the only one classified Gold by the International Athletics Federation, is marked by the participation of Mo Farah, multi-Olympic and world champion. This Friday during the pre-race press conference he gave, the British athlete said he was proud to participate. “We will have an extraordinary race, I came to enjoy it, it is an exciting moment for me to race for the first time in Africa, I will try to take up the challenge”, he declared.
Presented as “the greatest British athlete of all time”, Mo Farah has an impressive track record to his credit. Winner of the 10 km in London in 2010 with a time of 27 minutes 44 seconds, he was Olympic champion in the 5000m and 10000m, respectively in 2012 and 2016. World champion in the 10000m in London in 2017, he also won the same title in the 5000m and 10000 respectively in Moscow in 2013 and in Beijing in 2015.
This Saturday, he is on the starting blocks with the Kenyans Emmanuel Kiprop and Daniel Kosen who also boast impressive records.
