Soccer – Freiburg im Breisgau:Musiala makes good on promises and gives Streich jersey as a present

Freiburg (dpa) – National player Jamal Musiala from the Bundesliga soccer team FC Bayern Munich kept his promise after his team’s 1-0 away win and gave SC Freiburg’s coach Christian Streich a jersey. Four days earlier, a scene between Musiala and Streich after the final whistle of the quarter-finals in the DFB Cup had sparked conversation. Musiala caused a penalty in stoppage time, which Lucas Höler converted. This eliminated Bayern. Streich wanted to comfort Musiala. The 20-year-old went on without a word. Afterwards he apologized and promised Streich a jersey when they met again.
“I congratulated him on the win and then we hugged. That was nice and now we’re going home. Everything is fine,” said Streich, who confirmed receipt of the shirt.
