“New Evidence Shows Health Benefits Remain Even After Regaining Lost Weight”

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Losing weight is good for health. Not infrequently those who seek to slim down must make significant lifestyle changes.

However, often the weight returns slowly. This can make a person feel like their efforts are wasted.

Even so, new evidence suggests that the health benefits are here to stay, especially when it comes to maintaining heart health.

Those who had managed to lose weight, even if they gained it again, still showed lower risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

The diseases in question are heart attacks and type 2 diabetes, according to an analysis in Circulation title Cardiovascular Quality and Outcome quoted Daily Record.

Previous studies have shown that when someone who previously lost weight then gains weight back, it can increase the risk of cardiovascular health.

However, the authors of later analyzes claim there is still a lack of further research in this area.

The academics state that their latest findings may provide support for people trying to keep their weight in check.

Researchers conducted 124 studies with a total of more than 50,000 participants. They compared risk factors for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes in these studies.
