Filipino faithful continue to flock to churches in Rizal province to observe Black Saturday after over two years of pandemic restrictions.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Filipinos continue to observe the Visita Iglesia tradition by flocking to different churches outside of Metro Manila, particularly in Rizal province, to mark Black Saturday. For many, the tradition serves as a religious learning experience for their children, and a way to express their faith and give thanks to the Lord for good health and financial blessings. Some families also see it as a chance to spend meaningful time together and pray for themselves and others. Visita Iglesia is a Roman Catholic practice of visiting and praying in at least seven different churches on Maundy Thursday.
