New York Judicial Police : the return of a cult series
In the American penal system, the prosecution is represented by two distinct but equally important groups: the police, who investigate crimes, and the prosecutor, who prosecutes criminals.
Here is their story…
Dun ! Dun !
In 1990, the talented Dick Wolf created on NBC what will be one of the longest and most popular American series: New York Judicial Police. A success that will be broken down into 20 seasons and two spin-offs: New York Special Unit et New York: Organized Crime.
Back in 2022 in the United States and in 2023 in France, the emblematic original detective series, New York Judicial Policetherefore offers for its season 21 an immersion in ten episodes in the workings of the American judicial system.
In the distribution, the outstanding characters of the previous seasons, which are the prosecutor Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Inspector Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson), are surrounded by new (less charismatic) faces, such as Inspector Frank Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan), Lt. Kate Dixon (Camryn Manheim) and assistant prosecutors Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) and Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi).
Finally, the new version of the original music is always signed Mike Post.
Our opinion ?
Eleven years later, New York Judicial Police remains an exciting legal series to follow. The pleasure is still intact to hear the voice-over of the beginning and the music of the credits, to see again the prosecutor McCoy and the endless debates of opinions within the police force and the office of the prosecutor.
Note that a season 22, more provided in episodes (22 exactly), is being broadcast in the United States.
