Francois Delmas, deputy spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry, said that Russia was spreading disinformation about the role of the French in the war in Ukraine and peace negotiations.
The day before, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that President Macron, as the leader of a NATO member country, knows how much the alliance has done to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.
Delmas noted that Russia is the aggressor against Ukraine in the war, and Kyiv is defending its sovereignty and its territorial integrity.
He added that during his last phone call with Zelensky, Macron reaffirmed France’s support for Ukraine to put an end to Russian aggression.
