The Chilean Ministry of Health reported this Friday that 1,116 new cases of Covid-19 were registered, with a positivity rate of 7.08 percent, in the last 24 hours.

“New confirmed cases nationwide decreased 40.6 percent in the last week and 52.2 percent in the last 14 days,” he said in his epidemiological report.
The total number of infections increased to 5,271,755, of which 3,443 patients are in the active stage. In addition, in the last 24 hours, 15 deaths from Covid-19 were reported, adding a total of 61,129 in the country.
The report specifies that the 16 regions reduced their cases in the last seven and 14 days, while the daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 7.59 percent.
The entity added that, until Thursday, some 70 people were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 51 had mechanical ventilation support.
“According to the sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Atacama, Biobío and Antofagasta. Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by O’Higgins , Valparaíso and Ñuble,” he said.
