“Spring frost occurs when the temperature in the place of risk is minus 2 °C or lower, measured at a height of two meters from the ground level in the spring. The producer can find information about this on the website of the OMSZ. It is important that the producer assumes the correctness of the OMSZ data – until proven otherwise – and applies it compulsorily in the damage mitigation procedure,” explained the ministry.
They also indicated that “for fruit orchards that have been cultivated professionally, the damage report must be submitted within fifteen days of the occurrence of the agricultural damage event, but no later than the statutory deadline of May 31 of the current year”.
According to the announcement, “in the case of a spring frost that causes a decrease in yield, the occurrence of the agricultural damage event must be considered the time when the weather phenomenon occurs in the area affected by the damage.”
