Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 69-year-old man almost a month after he was assaulted in Cork city. The pensioner was attacked on 13 October and passed away in hospital on 9 November. Officers have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. A postmortem examination is due to be carried out. No arrests have yet been made.
