The Hunziker settlement is designed as a lighthouse project. As part of the 100-year celebrations of municipal housing policy, the building cooperative more than living was created as an initiative of the umbrella organization of housing cooperatives, 30 cooperatives and the city of Zurich as well as other institutions involved. The aim is to realize an innovative and forward-looking project. The Hunziker Areal settlement is also intended to serve as a learning laboratory with regard to ecological building and living. Part of the mobility concept is a mobility station in the district with bicycles, bicycle trailers, electric bicycles and car sharing vehicles. The settlement is about 1.2 kilometers from Zurich-Oerlikon S-Bahn station. It is also accessible by two bus lines with four to eight connections per hour and by a tram line nearby (approx. 500 meters on foot). The local supply can be described as good. There are shopping opportunities concentrated in the center of Oerlikon, which is about 1.5 kilometers away. Coop and Migros are each around 600 meters away on Wallisellenstrasse and in the Glattpark. The leasing of various commercial businesses was also implemented, which increases the local offer (grocery store, doctor’s office, restaurant, etc.) Further information more than live, Hunziker area success factors Success factors, stumbling blocks and insights detailed description More than living, Zurich-Leutschenbach
