“Frank Lampard Ready to Share Club Insight with Chelsea Owners in Managerial Return”

Frank Lampard insists he ‘knows the club’ and is ready to share his advice with Chelsea owners.

The Blues legend has made a sensational return to Stamford Bridge for his second spell as the club’s manager until the end of the season, after Graham Potter was fired following a string of poor results. The ex-midfielder spent 13 years at the club as a player and claimed he could advise management ‘to find the right path’ as he ‘knows the club’.

“The conversations I’ve had with the decision-makers and people running the club have all been very positive. You understand the club has a vision and wants to move forward. Of course, these are people who working in the right direction, collaborating, discussing and trying to find the right path. That’s the impression I got coming here,” he told reporters.

“Of course at the moment we are in a position where it is part of the process. It is very good. I keep saying the same thing, but I am ready to play my part in this process and I will be very honest and open with everyone. I know the club, I think it’s an advantage to step into this role now.”

Lampard was sacked by Chelsea in 2021 after a poor run of results and his spell at Everton also ended on a sour note last January after a 10-match winless streak.

The manager admitted he was keen to prove himself at the highest level and there was still an element of “professional ego” behind his return to south-west London.

And the interested party to continue: “Do you think that Antonio Conte is a bad manager when he has just left Tottenham? Do you think that Thomas Tuchel is a bad manager when he leaves Chelsea? I think the reality is always in the middle. We see it and it changes a lot,” he continued.

“I understand your point of view, and also from a selfish point of view, I want to do my best during this time because I have a professional ego and I want to be the best I can be.

“I see it, I feel it, but I can’t control it. I understand your point of view. I want to be as good as I can be. I want that feeling. I want to feel like I’m leading here, winning games. because there’s nothing better. There’s no doubt about it. That’s what I’m here for.”

Lampard will hope to start on a high note when Chelsea take on Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
